Upcoming Holiday Titles I am Looking Forward To!

The holiday season will soon be upon us and with it a rash of games hoping to land developers a hit.  Which games have piqued my interest and may get a few of my hard earned dough?  Find out just after the break!

Shadow of Mordor
The game looks very much like a mix of Dark Souls, Batman Games with a bit of Witcher.  The combat looks very polished as does the environment.  You can level up powers for the Ranger himself or the Elf ghost that has inhabited his body.  What makes it more interesting is how the enemy's ranks can change around your successes and failures that sets this game above the others.  There is way more to be said but this trailer from Game Trailers does an excellent job of summarizing the title.

Wasteland 2
A nostalgic throwback to the original Wasteland which served as the inspiration to the Fallout series.  It is brutal and harsh but chock full of good story and many options for character development.  Like its predecessor, it is turned based combat in an isometric world.

It is a great change of pace from the current game offerings and invokes a welcome sense on nostalgia.

The Evil Within
The FPS story 'shooter' genre has grown on me quite a bit over the past several years, mostly due to Steam mega sales over the winter and summer seasons where you can take a chance on titles for a fraction of the cost.  I have played Max Payne 3, Hit Man: Absolution and the Tomb Raider reboot, all of them have been relatively excellent titles, time most definitely well spent.  Hell I still have L.A. Noire and Far Cry 3 sitting in the bin waiting to be played.  What I don't have is a good horror version that will make me jump just like the Resident Evil franchise used to and this one looks to fit the bill.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
I have loved the Dragon Age series.  The stories are always good and keep you up much later than you planned to.  Added to that, the graphics look awesome and the gameplay clips look great.  There is a great mix between turn based and live action control styles.  It looks like a legitimate MMO.  I look forward to seeing more about it as it gets closer to the release date in November.  For now, here is a little taste courtesy of Joystiq:
